I’ve been registered with Twitter for about a month but haven’t “twittered” yet…I’m going to work on that next week. Twitter is the next move in “blogging” and will probably overtake it within the next several years, imo.
Just finished launching the newly designed H.G Reynolds Company website. They are a construction firm based here in Aiken. I originally designed their first site back in 2003 and so it was pretty cool to be a part of the new design. Check it out at www.hgreynolds.net
been a pretty hectic week. I’m excited (and nervous) about preaching tomorrow. Both the nervousness and excitement are a part of it. If it wasn’t then I would be worried to be honest. All of it causes me to get on my face even more and ask that God would move in the lives of the people that will be there, that He would help me to communicate His grace and truth in a way that brings Him honor. Tomorrow, we’re “Goin’ Old School”. I would appreciate your prayers.
PS: the bumper for tomorrow’s message should be pretty funny, too. I’ll post it next week here on the blog.

Last week was very cool but man, I am wiped out. It began a week ago Saturday. Kim and I went down to Hilton Head and had some down time until Tuesday. She came back home while my week was just cranking up. We did the production for breakaway and wrapped yesterday (sunday). I drove back yesterday while Danny and Walter stayed to see Switchfoot. We had thought that we were going to get to do some production for them but all video for the concert got nixed earlier in the week. It’s a long story, but it wasn’t anything we did or didn’t do. Had to do with the promoter/booking stuff. I got pretty good sleep last night, but I am just wiped. It reminds me of the days when I would take students to youth camp or on a mission trip. those first few days are rough. Preaching this coming Sunday so I’m pretty pumped about that. May have to take several trips to Starbucks to help me through these next few days, though
So, as I said below in this post, Danny, Walter and myself are going to be providing the video production for Breakaway next week. Yesterday I just found out that on Sunday night after the camp is over, Switchfoot will be doing a concert at the same venue where our camp is going to be held at. And guess who is doing video production for Switchfoot….yep, you guessed it.. we do. Can I just say that I am absolutely stoked about that!!!! I couldn’t believe it at first. How cool is that.
Kim and I will be heading out this weekend for some R&R before hand, and I can’t wait. I’ll hopefully have some photos and such of everything.
When I was beginning in ministry (I was a student ministry intern), I learned a valuable principle in raising up and training new leaders. Once you have either identified potential ministry leaders or someone has expressed interest in leading, serving or volunteering in a ministry area, here is a process in passing the batton so that they are ready to begin ministry. This might be stating the obvious, but it has been helpful to me:
1. I lead
2. I lead, you watch
3. I lead, you help
4. You lead, I watch
5. You lead
Now obviously in there are conversations, reviews and ways to improve. Hopefully that is helpful in thinking through a system and process for volunteer and leadership training.
One thing I’ve noticed about worry and stress is that it robs vision. I believe that God wants dreamers. Not saying that we should walk around daydreaming all the time, but I do think that dreaming is a valuable way to spend SOME time just dreaming. This weekend I was relaxed, just chillin in our pool (don’t be impressed…it’s an 18′ x 38″ pool with the inflatable ring around it…but we love it in summer time), on a float, looking up at the sky and “BAM”…..had a couple of ideas hit me that were really strong. Can’t share what they are right now, but they are the kind of ideas that you seriously pray about, and I am praying about. I must confess, there have been some things on the mind that I’ve been stressing and worrying about way too much…things that I constantly had to take back to God and say “You got this thing, Lord.” Not only does worry kill vision, it affects my relationship with God and my fam bigtime. At some point, whatever you’re going through, if you’ve done all that you can “to stand. Stand firm then…” Ephesians 6:13-14 Trust God that He is not only your protection, He is your provision, your source, your sustainer, your commander. He’ll lead the way through the things that we tend to worry so much about. Anyway, hope you find that place today where you stand in Him and lay the worry down.

Kim and I are heading down to Hilton Head for about 4 days, just the two of us for some serious vegging. Then, Kim will head back to Aiken. Myself, Danny and Walter Ray will be staying down until the following Sunday doing video production for a student camp called Breakaway. I usually spend that week doing video edits, helping to run live productions of worship services and capturing footage of them. I don’t see the beach much at all during that time. Glad for the few days leading up to it.
