Wow…what a day in Cedar Creek Church’s story. The unofficial number is over 5200 people between two services. Saw a lot of first time guests. Everything went very well and Phillip did an excellent job in sharing the simple but powerful message of Jesus. Our volunteers and staff did an outstanding job in every area. Was an awesome sight to see, and I can’t wait to see what God did/does in the lives of those there.

I’m tired…seems like we’ve been working toward this for a LONG time. There’s been so much prayer, energy and effort going into getting ready by all the ministries. Needless to say, I’m taking tomorrow off :)

I’ll have some videos coming later today and this week, but for now, if you missed the message, here’s Phillip’s message audio:

There is talk of an unlimited library of music iPod for either a set price up front with purchase of iPod or as a subscription per month. The idea is consumers would pay a premium of up to $100 for unlimited access to
music for the lifetime of the device, or a monthly fee of $7-$8 for a
subscription model. I would definitely go for the $100 up front if given the option vs a monthly subscription. Although either one is a very cool idea. I would imagine that Apple would go with the subscription model as that generates ongoing revenue. $8 per month with a gazillion iPods being sold vs one time up front seems to be a no brainer. You figure an iPod will at least last two to three years.

You can check out the whole story here.

One of the things I learned when I went to C3 from Ed Young, Jr. is to ride waves of momentum to promote the next series and opportunities at your church. For example, they knew that Christmas Eve they would have huge crowds coming. So they actually flew to Miami and did an interview with Hulk Hogan and used that to promote the next series coming up in January. They would use snippets leading up to the Christmas Eve services and then would expand it on Christmas Eve itself. In the series, they do a longer interview with the Hulkster about different life issues.

While we won’t be interviewing Hogan this year (maybe next :) …), we are focusing on doing two things to ride what we hope is a momentum wave at Easter:

  1. We shot a promo video that will be shown right at the end of the service before our closing song. I’ll post the video after the event.
  2. We created these graphics and had 6000 of them printed up on 8.5 x 5.5 cards. As people leave, we’re going to put one in everybody’s hand as well as encouraging our people to put it in hands of their unchurched friends.

Here are the pdf’s of the cards:

Last night we did our final walk through for Sunday morning at the Convocation Center. Today, even as I type, the crew from Custom Audio and Sound are setting up the audio, video and lights for tomorrow. I’ll be heading over around 10:30 am to help setup our components (computers for videos/words, etc) and to get a better idea of what the setup will look like exactly. Everybody arrives by 6 PM and we do a “dress rehearsal” for Easter. Pray that goes well.

Looking forward to watch Jesus kick satan in the teeth tomorrow by seeing people get saved. Satan has been working overtime on churches all over as so many first time guests will get the opportunity to hear the best news ever. I know we’ve seen it by stuff breaking, not working that “always works”. No worries…HE is in control! And the enemy is already defeated!

When you have some time, you have GOT to checkout the latest message at Elevation Church. They do an interview/message with Cliff Barrows, the man who for 50 years led worship for Billy Graham. Very encouraging, very challenging. Message is called One Generation To Another.

God, set me on fire and let me burn for You. Amen.

Okay, for all of you stat junkies, here is the state of the internet. Couple of interesting notes:

1. Most number of internet users by country: 1. USA (no shocker there) 2. CHINA? (who knew?….I guess the gazillion people they have in their country should give it away :) )
2. Facebook is quickly approaching MySpace as the number one Networking Website.
3. Top webmail services: 1. Yahoo 2. Hotmail 3. GMail (google…thought GMail would have been number two at least).
