I setup a flickr account today for CCC. We have so many photos that we could share and flickr is an excellent way to do that. Here’s a slide show of some photos compliments of Bruce Hart.

I would love to be a part of this. I think I’ll plan on fasting and praying along with them. Gonna see if Kim will join me in it :)

Okay, for all the non-technical people out there, you may not want to read this post… I must warn you, boring tech talk ahead.

Quicktime Logo

I edit in Final Cut Pro and often output to a Sorenson 3 Compression. Pretty common practice. I was editing one day here recent, went to export my project using quicktime conversion. Went to my options to chose Sorenson 3 and I about had a cow. My dearly loved Sorenson 3 compression setting was no where to be found. So were a few other settings. After digging around, I discovered the issue.

Apparently in one of updates for Quicktime, Apple thought it would be a good idea to not include some “older” compression settings in Quicktime. Apple is notorious for doing this time to time…I still love my macs :). Fortunately, they also included a solution if you need these archaic settings.

Solution: Go to Apple Menu > System Preferences. Chose QuickTime. Click on the Advanced tab. Check the checkbox “Show legacy encoders - Allows exporting using older codecs” and voila…..Sorenson is back baby!

Okay, so google blacked out their background as a symbol of support for earth hour today. Here’s the ironic thing…having a black background actually consumes more energy on computers vs. a white background. Ironic isn’t it….what’s that?…oh, gotta run. My tree out back needs a hug :)

Bar none, fall is my favorite time of the year. Football, cooler temps after a brutal summer heat, the fair, thanksgiving and yes, scary movies around Halloween ( really do like scary movies…not gore ones, but I keep the original Halloween movie on my Tivo year round). That said, my second favorite time of the year is the spring about a week or two before the Masters golf tournament begins.

Everything is beginning to bloom, it is still a little cool but nice enough to get out, Holy Week including Easter happens, spring break, spring football practice, the Georgia G-Day game and the Masters. It is a really cool time to live where we do. You can sense the build up and the excitement to the Masters even a month out. I’m not a golfer. I like to get out on the course, but 1. I don’t have time 2. when I play golf, little children run and hide, screaming all the way. I hate even more to watch golf on TV except….when the Masters comes to town. If I get a pass, I’ll go as often as I can. If I can’t, I’ll be glued to the tv…even in the early rounds.

You can keep up with the results and check out past footage at the Masters official site:

While we usually do our own video bumpers in house, we had so much going on that we outsourced the one for Easter at the convocation center. Plus, we wanted some fresh eyes with some serious skills! Enter Ken Wilson…..he did an excellent job. Check it!

Not only has life been crazy with the buildup to Easter, I’ve also been pretty busy with about 5 to 6 websites I’ve been designing. The latest one to launch is an E-Commerce store for Palmetto Cuties. It is up and running. I’ll post a few more of the new sites over the next week or two.
